Change is in the air! 24 plus years ago I wandered West Seattle looking for a place to open a Yoga studio. No one would rent to me because they didn’t think Yoga was a viable way to make a living, so my husband Tim and I decided to extend our law office building to include a Yoga studio. I felt very blessed at that time and still do. I love this space and all it has been for the last 24 years to me and all of you.

Seven years ago, we sold the building when Tim decided to retire. We made a deal with the new owner that I could stay, knowing one day that could change. Well, that day has come and the owner decided to move his business into the entire building, with the exception of the West Seattle Chamber, who will stay. Many things went through my mind, but I knew, for sure, we would survive this shift. For the last two years we have flexed with all that COVID brought us. While teaching on Zoom has not been ideal, it has allowed us to continue doing what we all love, Yoga.

We all know that SoundYoga is more than just a place. Whenever we are together there is the feeling of being in a supportive community. A sanga that brings comfort to our challenges, nourishment to our ever growing minds and spirits and teachings that will continue to serve us as we move through life’s journey. Our last day in the studio will be November 30, 2022, just short of our 25th anniversary in this space, February 2, 2023. However, I am networking with my fellow health practitioners in West Seattle to find a space to rent hourly for the few classes that will come back in person. Our Zoom studio and classes will continue as we have for the last two plus years.

I can’t count how many times I have thanked you all for supporting me and SoundYoga. Once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your continued support to not just SoundYoga but to realizing how important Yoga is in your life and what it has given you.

In peace,

Chris
